Rules
Clean Up

Please use the cleared path above the larger arena for the potty area for dogs.  There
is a scooper down by the arenas- you are welcome to use that or your own baggies.
There is a large blue trash can for garbage.  The cleared path is as cheat-free as we
can get it.  Other areas are to be avoided due to the weeds that can be embedded in
your dogs’ fur, feet, or ears.  Walking your dogs off the cleared path is done so at your
own risk!  Your dog is to use the designated potty area before he goes through the
gate onto the training field.  Come prepared.  Clean up after your dog when he goes
no matter where he goes.  No peeing and pooping on the agility field.
Porta - Potty

There is a porta-potty for your
use.  Please let us know if it is
low on toilet-paper.  Please do
not put doggie waste bags
down the toilet.  It is difficult for
my service guy to remove.
No  Barking

Desert Sage’s Canine Care is next to an area
of new construction of a community.  Please
be aware that excessive barking could be
reason to dismiss your dog from class or at
least to a crate or car until your turn.  We need
to be respectful of our neighbors’.
The Property at Desert Sage

Desert Sage’s Canine Care is the 10 acre home of Stephanie, Bill, William, Elizabeth, and Casey Morris.  The
children are outside a lot,  therefore
PLEASE USE CAUTION COMING DOWN THE DRIVEWAY.  Anyone
seen driving above 5 miles per hour will be warned and if this rule is broken again will be asked not to return.
Leashes are a Must!

All dogs must wear leashes at Desert
Sage.
They may not run from the
parking area to the arenas off leash or
around the parking area off leash.
 IF
it is not your turn or you are warming
up you must keep your dog either on
leash or contained in a crate or ex-
pen.  Dogs in a sit or down stay are
not considered securely confined.
You are welcome to use the crates
that are here or bring your own.  This
is for your dogs’ safety as well as the
other dogs that are at our facility.
Cats & Dogs

If your dog has a problem with cats
please let us know and we will do
our best to put them in the garage
prior to class arriving.  They have
lived here for nine years and are not
scared of dogs- They will walk up to
a dog and rub on the dog- If your dog
is cat aggressive please alert us so
we can make sure the cats are safe
before an incident occurs.
Positive Training Only!

Your dog is to feel appreciated for his
efforts to do what you are asking of him
(unless he is marking equipment) even if
it isn’t what you set out to do.  When
working in agility, your dog is right 99.9%
of the time that it is best to assume that if
things don’t go right it is your
responsibility, not his. (No saying AHHH,
yuck, no, sagging shoulders, clenching
of the teeth, sharpening the tone of your
voice, giving up or abandoning your dog
physically or emotionally because you
are unhappy with your joint
performance.)  We will help you analyze
and determine “WHY” it happened.
It's Class Time

PLEASE arrive early, potty your dog, greet your classmates (the humans), and
warm up your dog.  Be ready for your turn with dog on the line and be prepared
with your rewards (cookies out and toys ready).  Please help with jump height
changes quickly.  The faster this is done the more time for your dog!
Aggressive Dogs

If your dog is aggressive with other
dogs or people, please ask about
private behavioral consultations or
private agility lessons.  Aggressive
dogs will not be allowed.
