Carole Mann started teaching at Desert Sage in 2007.
She teaches part time and is also a part time dental
hygienist for the past 22 years.

Dogs have been part of her whole life but the "agility
scene" and true dog training became part of her life with
addition of Pete, one of her Border Collies.  Agility has
brought her a new world- the dog world!!! Carole has
never competed in any sport other than agility and she
has found out that she enjoys competition.

She is of the belief that the greatest teachers are OUR
dogs.  For Carole- the dogs keep reminding her what is
important- their safety and FUN.  Both parts of the team
must be having fun!  She believes that to play in the dogs'
world is like growing up a kid again- you play all day, no
worries about getting dirty, and at the end of the day you
can fall asleep just about anywhere.

Having trained under some of the top trainers in the world
has helped Carole develop her teaching style and beliefs.
She is a positive and reward based trainer.  She believes
in the clicker as one of the quickest ways to get your dog
to learn a particular behavior.

She has worked hard with her own dogs and Pete has
accomplished some of the highest honors in the agility
world- being in the 26" Steeplechase FINALS two years
running!!!!  Qualifying for the USDAA Cynasport World
Championships for the past five years is a great
accomplishment for Carole.  Pete has his ADCH and is
currently going for his MACH.

Because her beliefs are of the mind set that agility is a
game we play with our dogs.... Carole makes  a great
addition to the Desert Sage TEAM.  We are happy she is
here!
